Materials are classified into mainly two categories –
MAN-MADE and NATURAL.
MAN-MADE MATERIALS:-
ELASTOMERS –
-> THERMOSETTING such as polyester resins.
-> THERMOPLASTIC such as PVC.
->RUBBER.
NATURAL MATERIALS:-
1) METALS –
FERROUS – magnetic in nature.
Example – steel, cast iron, etc.
NON-FERROUS – non-magnetic in nature.
Example – aluminium.
2) GLASS – made of Silica
-> it is both solid as well as liquid.
-> The boiling water freezes faster than the water at room temperature.
The second session dealt with space and its importance:
Space – an imaginary area. It is as big as we think it is.
