
In this session, we discussed about the techniques of sketching that can help us in defining Contours and make a 2D object look 3D. Also, any form of creativity requires techniques.
Any message can be explained through techniques.
Texture which introduces the characteristics of the objects.
Textures involves Stippling, Doodling, lines and cross hatching.
It helps us depict any kind of surface like granite, wall, wood, water, crumbled paper, sand, etc.
Also, every sketch must be divided into three different parts :
1. FOREGROUND – must be in the bottom, and must be darker
2. MIDDLEGROUND – must be in middle of the page and should have a medium tone
3. BACKGROUND – must be at the top and must be lighter.
Every sketch must contain a Horizon.
Later, using the different textures, we were asked to sketch a picture.

This session taught me how and when to use various textures and different pencils depending on our sketch.
