Movie posters are the basic elements that help us know how efficient we are in using softwares like photoshop and illustrator. This class was a revision for these softwares and hence we were asked to redesign a poster or make a composition of one, taking references from different pictures.
I chose to make a composition using the following references :-
I used the sunset as the background. Flipped the mountain horizontally. Used layer mask to cut out the rest of the parts for the mountain image. Again used layer mask to merge the last image with the background and then reduced its opacity. At the end, I took the reference from both the movie posters to add some text.
Whenever I was asked to design a movie poster, I always thought of a movie with some dark concept. And that is why I chose to design a poster of an animated movie this time. Among all the animated movies, I chose this movie – LION KING, because I think I found a better set of references.
