OBJECTS - These are mostly the tools that we use in everyday life. They are said to be the turning point in history. HISTORY - Basically the past events. Can also be named as Mythology or Chronology. Now the question comes, what history in design is? This subject basically includes the discoveries of objects, their origins and their progress.
We were shown a few cave paintings of mostly the animals, which were from France, Spain, Argentina. I personally got inspired by the textures and techniques, the tools that they used (whether it may be with hand), and the precision in the paintings.
The Beginning
We all knew there were different ages through which generations are evolved, but discussing the ways they used to survive back then was quite interesting.
Different Ages :- 1. Paleolithic 2. Neolithic 3. Chalcolithic
After some research, we found out what were the tools used in each of these ages. Paleolithic Age & Neolithic age – stone was the basic tool in both these ages, and hence they were also known as the stone ages. Back then, the people made stones on their own, and used these stones as tools to kill animals. These dead animals were a source of survival for them. Example – for evolution of lifestyle, to survive in cold climate, etc. Charcolithic Age – This was the copper age.
Conclusion – Initially, we discussed what objects and history mean individually. We then tried to know why there is history in design. We eventually started discussing about what tools did the Neolithic and Paleolithic ages had the access to, (basically the stone tools) and how they managed to survive using these tools.
